The Women’s Super League fixtures for the 2026/27 season have been released, with Manchester City set to begin their title defence against newly-promoted Birmingham City.
The opening round will see London City Lionesses face Manchester United, live on Sky Sports, on Friday, September 4.
Opening Weekend Fixtures
The first weekend of the season will feature five live games on Sunday, September 6, including Brighton vs Arsenal, Tottenham vs West Ham, Charlton vs Liverpool, Crystal Palace vs Everton, and Man City vs Birmingham City.
Chelsea will host Aston Villa on Saturday, September 5.
Sky Sports will show 90 per cent of all WSL matches live, with 163 matches in total, as well as the play-off.
The league has expanded from 12 teams to 14, with Birmingham City, Crystal Palace, and Charlton Athletic securing promotion from WSL 2.
Key Dates for the 2026/27 WSL Season
The season will kick off on September 4, with a winter break scheduled from December 21 to January 3.

The final weekend of the season will take place on May 22/23, followed by the play-off on May 29/30.
London City Lionesses, who signed two-time Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas this summer, will launch the new season against Manchester United.
Manchester City, the defending champions, will host newcomers Birmingham City on Sunday, September 6.
The first Merseyside derby of the season will see Everton travel to Anfield to face Liverpool on Sunday, September 27, live on Sky Sports.
Arsenal will also host Chelsea on Sunday, September 27, in a match that will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
Relegation remains in place, with the last-placed team automatically relegated and the 13th-placed side facing a play-off with the WSL 2 runners-up.
The expansion of the league to 14 teams is expected to increase competition and excitement for fans.
