The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Atlanta Falcons 30–23 in overtime on Sunday night, staging a comeback after falling behind when quarterback Tyler Huntley stepped in for the injured Lamar Jackson.
Atlanta entered the contest as a 3.5-point home favorite, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, but faltered after surrendering 15 points in the fourth quarter and overtime. Jackson, the Ravens’ franchise quarterback, missed his second straight start due to an ankle injury suffered against the Tennessee Titans. Huntley took over and led the offense for the duration.
Early in the first quarter, Ravens tight end Mark Andrews lost control of a fumble at the 36-yard line. Falcons safety Jessie Bates III recovered and returned it for a touchdown, putting Atlanta ahead 7–3. In the second quarter, Baltimore answered with two 51-yard field goals, but Atlanta struck back with a five-yard touchdown pass from Penix to Kyle Pitts Sr., extending their lead to 14–9 at halftime.
After the break, the Falcons added another field goal, but the Ravens cut the deficit to 17–15 with an 18-yard touchdown pass from Huntley to Derrick Henry. Baltimore then forced a turnover on downs. Atlanta responded with two fourth-quarter field goals, stretching their lead to 23–15. With 2:31 left, Huntley connected with Devontez Walker for a touchdown and completed a two-point conversion, tying the game at 23–23 with 40 seconds remaining.
The Ravens’ late rally showed their depth at quarterback, proving they could sustain a balanced attack even without their starting signal-caller. The team’s ability to maintain composure under pressure became a defining feature of the comeback.
In overtime, Baltimore held the ball for over seven minutes before Huntley scored from the goal line, giving the Ravens their first lead of the night. Atlanta’s Tua Tagovailoa then replaced the injured Penix for a single play, completing a 20-yard pass before Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton intercepted the throw to seal the victory.
The Falcons will face the Chicago Bears next Sunday, with Caleb Williams potentially returning after a hamstring issue. Baltimore’s next game is an away matchup against the Cleveland Browns, both scheduled for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
